Erath County Habitat for Humanity is now accepting applications for home partnership.
Habitat for Humanity is pledged to the achievement of equal housing opportunities for families living in Erath County, Texas. We encourage and support an affirmative advertising and marketing program in which there are no barriers to obtaining housing because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin.

TO BECOME A HABITAT HOMEOWNER, YOU MUST BECOME A HABITAT PARTNER BY MEETING THESE REQUIREMENTS:
1. You must be living in inadequate or substandard housing conditions which include over-crowded living conditions, living in cost-burdened housing (
pay more than 31% of your monthly income for housing expenses), and are unable to obtain a loan through conventional financing.
2. You must be willing to Partner with Habitat.
This means the partner family must invest 150 sweat-equity hours per adult homeowner applicant with a maximum of 300 required hours per partner family working to help build their home along with other Habitat volunteers. Families are also required to attend seminar hours on topics which may include personal financial literacy, home maintenance, and parenting classes which will also count toward Sweat Equity.
3. Partner families must be willing and able to make regular monthly mortgage payments on the home and make a down payment. Mortgage payments normally run for a period of 30 years. No interest is charged on the mortgage loan.
4. Applicants must meet income limits and debt to income ratios to be considered for home ownership. There is a $42 credit check fee due when applications are submitted.
